About Me

My photo
After we've completed a house, it's amazing how many people say "Isn't it great how it all came together!"... as if by accident. This is a very small look into how it all "comes together".

Amazing buildings

The Colosseum is an incredible example of Ancient Roman Architecture.
It is well worth standing in line to go inside.
This was the first time we'd been inside the Colosseum.
The kids were just gobsmacked as you can imagine.

Construction commenced in 72AD!
You can see places where stones have fallen from natural disasters &
stolen by 'stone thieves', which adds to the amphitheatre's character.

Driving around the Colosseum in a mini at night time
listening to italian music also adds to it's character!

My daughter was fascinated by the brickwork
(not sure where she gets that from?!!)

I could have just picked this one up and brought it home

You can see by this photo that we had magnificent weather

Call me strange, but I like
the rough edges of the Trevi Fountain better than the front

Don't be afraid to visit tourist places when in Rome
they are popular for a reason!

We visited St Peter's Basilica a number of times
as it was in our hood

This was my 3rd visit to the Vatican Museum

Wouldn't this sculpture look beautiful in my front yard?!

My favourite area in Rome is Trastevere.
The restaurants and Cafes there are gorgeous & hidden
within the alleyways

This gorgeous building reminds me of my new driveway!

After a few days my children [who are half Italian]
have really made themselves at home!

  1. Gorgeous post!

Love the kids making themselves at home ;)

Italy is high on my European "still to do" list, maybe in a few years when I have children who are of an age to appreciate it..

  3. Shayne & KP, I hope you get to Europe very soon! We took the kids a few years ago too when they were 4&5 and they were fantastic (and still remember a lot of the trip). Europe is very family orientated & Italians LOVE kids!!
