About Me

My photo
After we've completed a house, it's amazing how many people say "Isn't it great how it all came together!"... as if by accident. This is a very small look into how it all "comes together".

Ahhhh... Positano

We fell in love with Positano and the Amalfi Coast
on our last Italian trip.
We felt very at home when we arrived back there.
A few of the people we met 4 years ago remembered us.

It's colourful, the food is wonderful,
the limoncello is the best and I feel like I've stepped
onto the set of a 1950's movie.

Driving along the Amalfi Coast is something else
(even if the kids were car sick the whole way!)
There's a 'WOW' on every corner!

This is a ceramics gallery, completely covered in hand painted tiles.
I prefer to buy from the little local sellers, but this building is a work of art!

These lemons are the best lemons in the world (!)
They are grown specifically for making Limoncello

 This is 'our' beach.
We prefer this one to the Spiaggia Grande Positano
as there are less tourists here

'da ferdinando' is our local in Positano.
We hang out here for hours!
The owner of the bar has become a friend of ours
(and is also a good friend of Amanda Tabberer)

If you are considering a trip to the Amalfi Coast
(or even if you're not) this book is a must!
I believe Amanda has a new book coming out in March.

The first thing they said to us was
"Wow, i bambini sono piu grande"
(the kids have grown)

We heard that this house was for sale a few years ago...
I wonder what the asking price was??

This is the restaurant at our hotel.
I just love the decor

The colour in Positano is so refreshing
and makes me smile

 I just love this idea...
a crab pot light shade

This Vespa is the same as ours!

I also love this idea of the bamboo & bougainvillea roofing.
Not something that would withstand a Queensland Tropical Storm,
but superb for a protected little courtyard.

While we were in this beautiful place
I received the news that my darling nana Sarah Olive
had passed away...
She was 99 years old and the most beautiful lady.
She loved tea, Italian shoes, her family and baking.
Her favourite colour was blue.
She had the most amazing blue eyes you've ever seen.

We collected these jewels to place on her grave.

She will be terribly, terribly missed

Hold your loved ones close.

  10. Hello Jodi,
I was put onto your blog by a mutual friend, as I am planning a trip to Europe in 2013. She recommend I check out your blog...I can't wait to go and you helped me decide on some areas. Can you tell me the hotels and/or villas you stayed at along the way in Italy. Always nice to have a first hand recommendation. cheers, Tracey from Perth.

  11. Hi Tracey,
How Exciting!! I wish I was going next year!!
Let me know what time of the year you are going and some of the areas you are interested in and I will get some tips to you.
Coastal areas like Positano, Gargano & Cinque Terre are really good to visit in summer & the cities are better in the cooler months.
