About Me

My photo
After we've completed a house, it's amazing how many people say "Isn't it great how it all came together!"... as if by accident. This is a very small look into how it all "comes together".

Shiplap Love

Happy Monday Everyone!

More Cedar Shiplap Cladding has gone onto the house
and I have to say I'm loving it!
It only has one coat on it, so after 3 coats it's going to be a beautiful colour.
It's the first time we've used it.
(and I suspect you will see it again on our spec. house which is starting next year)
I love timber and I think that it brings warmth to a modern home.

I walked upstairs today and was surprised to see lights!!
At least I know that if we move in and the house isn't finished
we have electricity:)
We have tried to minimise downlights in this house
and are using LED strip lighting, pendants and lamps (and a few downlights)

The Roof System was completed today too.
(my apologies... this is from Vanguard, not Vergola...
my head is so overloaded at the moment!!)

We visited SPACE yesterday to buy our  XL ecosmart fire place

...and couldn't resist this Giorgetti coffee table.

Our curtains and blinds are ready!
The curtain ladies are asking me when I want them?
About 2 days before we move in please :)
I can't wait to see the curtains,
I'm really happy with the fabric which is a grey linen/poly/cotton.
It looks very organic and as soon as I saw it I knew it was 'the one'.

Have a great week!

  2. Thank You Little Treasures!!
I usually get very stressed about now... but I'm trying my hardest to take deep breaths and enjoy the journey :)
BTW... I love the Oprah Quotes on your latest post. So true & we should all take a leaf out of Oprah's book. She's a wise one!

  3. Wow! Wow! WOW!!!

    Love it all!!!

Especially the LED strip ligting :)

Thanks for commenting on my blog :)

Do you mind me asking if you prefer your combi steam or the regular oven? Which one do you use more often? What other things do you use the combi steam for? Also, do you have a microwave as well?

  4. Thanks B!
It's the first combi steam oven we've owned. My friend has it and says that she cooks almost everything in it! She loves it. She does Casseroles, cakes, fish, roasts.. pretty much anything.
We are getting a microwave combi oven too. All build in. The Steamer is taking the Coffee Machine's place as I am having a benchtop one this time instead (as I don't like the auto milk function on the new Miele Coffee Machine).
I'm planning on doing a combi steamer class @ Miele to get the most out of it!!

  5. The strip lighting is a great success. It looks brilliant. And that timber...ahh...well you know I love timber so there's no surprise. But it really does look fabulous.

  6. Thanks Virginia, Yes, we are really happy with the strip lighting. We are also having it above and below our overhead cupboards in our kitchen.
We installed more red cedar cladding today.... you will love it!
Loving the timber ceiling in the Mornington Peninsula house on your blog.
