About Me

My photo
After we've completed a house, it's amazing how many people say "Isn't it great how it all came together!"... as if by accident. This is a very small look into how it all "comes together".

The Floor

Before you enter the house... "Socks only. Thanks"
There's been a lot of rain, there's cement mud in the driveway
and our current floors have work boot 'ghosting' in them
which is getting worse as the floors darken.

The downstairs floor is in!!
This means we can start bringing in cabinetry.
I can't wait to see my walnut veneer kitchen and the charcoal sideboard.
The bathroom floors have been tiled. This is our ensuite.
It was a bit of a risk choosing these particular marble tiles, but they look great.

I LOVED the Royal Wedding!
I loved everything about it.
I think the Middletons are more Royal than the Royals!
Westminster Abbey looked Amazing.
I loved the way the aisle was lined with trees,
and those Chandeliers.... WOW!
It was so nice to witness such a happy event.
I'm definitely going to the Abbey when we visit London this year.

Welcome to my new follower from
Thanks for your interest in my blog :)

Gotta run.... I'm off to meet a curtain lady at the house.

Have a great week.

  1. Looking good and I am glad you put that sign out for the tradies. Most don't have a clue or care about the fact that it is starting to become a home and no longer a work site! ;-)

  2. I love your ensuite tiles. So envious!

Are they spray painting the ceiling and walls or rolling? Or a mixture of both?

  3. Do you always tile before your vanities go in? If so, do you mind me asking what the main reason is? We are thinking of tiling after the vanities have gone in, to save a few $$$.

  5. Thank You Jenny, B & Michelle. x
Yes Jenny, it is sometimes a struggle to get the tradies to respect other trades' work (and that it is a home). Just call me the floor Nazi!! When I went there today there were 6 tradies on site all with socks on! Now I just have to stop them from putting holes in walls with tools, ladders, tiles, etc.
B, we always tile floors before vanities and wall tiles after. We generally don't do the vanities to the floor in the bathrooms. But still tile laundry floors to the walls under cabinetry as it looks much neater.

  6. Thanks for that Jodie.

How far up do you normally take your laundry wall tiling?
