About Me

My photo
After we've completed a house, it's amazing how many people say "Isn't it great how it all came together!"... as if by accident. This is a very small look into how it all "comes together".

Welcome!

Welcome to our home...
It's almost finished!

The cedar and the stonework
are probably my 2 favourite materials on the house.

The Modwood Decking has started to be installed
It looks great (It will fade a little over time)
We decided to have Modwood over timber as we have a west/water facing block
and the maintenance of timber would drive us batty!
Just had to sneak another photo in of our beautiful wall!
 The Driveway is finished.
It will be sealed next week (which will also bring out the colour)

This is Paul working on it yesterday.
I have to say, he's been a fantastic tradesman.
Professional, Polite, Reliable, a Perfectionist and a lovely guy.
Tradesmen like this are quite rare.
If you are looking for a good stonemason
in South East Queensland he's your man.

I like to be surprised when I go on site
This is what I saw today
The kids' bathtub and spout!
ps. the bathtub isn't tiny... the spout is huge.

And more Cabinetry
This is our entertainment unit/window seat/fireplace

It will be Walnut Timber Veneer with an Oyster Caesar Stone bench
like the kitchen (which is opposite)

Then my painter snuck past me and started painting the wall in 'Zeus'
This is where the TV will go.
It's a bold colour to have in a living area, but it will kind of hide the tv
and you know how much I love charcoal!
He's painting the bedroom 'Zeus' this afternoon.
We have some artwork to put on the wall behind the bed
and it will look so much better on a charcoal wall than white.
We've had this piece for a while now
and I never tire of it.

I was walking past lifeline last week and saw this little beauty in the window.
I'm very into birds at the moment.
It's a 'brolly holder'
but I think it would look good with a cascade palm in it.
The sky is blue today!
Have a great weekend!

  2. Thanks M,
Ahhh.... umm....no, I haven't started yet. That's not good is it?!
I have a back injury so there's only so much I can do... (but that could just be an excuse ;) My mum is coming up in a couple of weeks to help me.

  6. Hi Jodie,

Have been following your 'house' project and it is absolutely fantastic. We are also renovating our home and using the multi-grey marble mosaic in our bathrooms. Just wondering whether you could tell me what the names of the other combination of tiles that you are using in your bathrooms (from your pictures of more tiles).
    Many thank Anna.

  7. Hi Jodie,

Sorry the pictures are from your Tiles selection colour green update in Feb. I can't wait to see the photos of the end results.

  8. Hi Anna,
    Thanks for following my blog.
I hope your renovation is going well & not driving you too crazy. I love the multi-grey mosaics, we have used them on a project last year with a grey/taupe coloured porcelain and a white porcelain.
We are using the honed multi-grey on all of the bathroom floors with the polished (both 600x600) on the walls. We have used a cascade grey (tumbled marble) with it as a feature (although it doesn't need it). We have used a grey hydra italian porcelain in the guest ensuite.
In the laundry we have used the honed multi-grey with a 300x600 off-white porcelain.
Do you have a blog? I'd love to see your reno!
